My name is Probash Chowdhury. I started Photography by Probash in 2005 after many years of deliberating. The leap into setting up my own business was daunting; but I did it and here I am - at your service!
I began photographing weddings in 1997 to create an "unofficial" album - all the casual and candid shots. I also provided portrait portfolios for friends round about the same time. Since then I've photographed many weddings and portraits (not all displayed on this site for privacy reasons) for friends and colleagues and building on my experience along the way. I also took a City & Guilds course in Photography and had some pictures (entitled "Ethnic Diversity") displayed in Leeds City Art Gallery as part of a larger anthropology exhibition.
I am a member of the SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers) and The Guild of Photographers.
In June 2011 I attained the level of Qualified Wedding Photographer with The Guild of Photographers. Qualified members are those who have evidenced their capability to deliver a good quality professional service to members of the public and are fully insured. This is seen as the level of acceptability one should expect from a professional photographer and is used as a benchmark when we are asked to act as an 'Expert Witness' and evaluate others work.
