A Camera Owner or a Professional Photographer?

Uncle Bob or your mate owns a modern day digital SLR, but does that make a person a "photographer" or a "camera owner"?

Qualified Guild Wedding Photographer (QGWP) are those who have evidenced their capability to deliver a good quality professional service to members of the public and are fully insured. This is seen as the level of acceptability one should expect from a professional photographer.

The aims of the The Societies (in my case the Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers) are to encourage high professional standards and ethics in photography by providing continued training programmes that will benefit the experienced professional along with the newcomer to the business.
